having just bought my first rPi (rpi3) and playing with getting it setup as an FE over the weekend (fully updated rasbian with mythtv-light), what is normal functionality for deinterlacing? with the default Advanced(HW) deinterlacing it looks ok for motion areas, but pausing playback and/or onscreen result tables (BTCC race results; i assume football, rugby etc tables would also be the same), look appalling as it seems to flicker between the two interlaced lines.
Openmax&Line Double worked best for visual quality with no noticeable performance issue.

(sorry for the direct email peter - didnt realise the TO: field wasn't the ML!
