Just to clarify, what do you mean "restarting killed it"? As in cold boot works but warm boot does not?

I think current release is 28.1

My understanding is that mythtv is unsupported in a zero tuner setup and that "all sorts of weirdness" may be experienced. Might need to add at least a dummy tuner.

For a tunerless setup I wonder whether there would be something other than mythtv that might be better suited. Plex or Kodi for example?
