Stephen:  Thanks very much!  Worked great, upgrade completed.  I owe 
you one!!

Trying to configure the weather module in frontend->Setup still doesn't 
work (even after reinstalling the Mythweather package), but not a big 
deal, as I obviously wasn't using it much.  Will wait for the next 
upgrade.

By the way, that other error message was due to a "backup" directory 
containing the mythconverg database from last month, when I upgraded 
Ubuntu to 16.04 from 14.04, and forgot to delete.  Once I deleted it, 
the message went away.

Off-topic - we will be visiting your beautiful country in about six 
weeks (North Island).  Looking forward to it!
