[mythtv-users] BE stops doing things

[0.27.6 on Fedora 22]

I am having an unusual situation where my BE just quietly stops 1) generating previews, 2) deleting recordings past the recordings-to-keep setting, and 3) running mythfilldatabase.

Recordings proceed just fine.

I can clear things by restarting mythbackend, but it takes noticeably longer to start after it's been stopped.

More of an annoyance, suddenly not doing what it normally does quite seamlessly, but I wonder if I can solve it.
