[mythtv-users] Thinking of moving on from MythTV :-( Any suggestions? (for the UK)

This is the one that will be problematic. If it is to have better  
support than MythTV someone will want to get paid on a regular basis.

These are constantly evolving which is why a one time fee (even a  
large one) won't get you support when the broadcasters upgrade their  
encoding equipment and your equipment cannot cope without some  
upgrades of its own.
