Mike, my master backend (w frontend) has been upgrading from 14.04 to
16.04 for 3 weeks now; I finally got an operational system
yesterday. The backend is recording fine now, and the frontend is
fine. But streaming (to mythling on android) remains broken.

By contrast, the upgrade from 12.04 to 14.04 was smooth.

One thing which minimized the stress was having everything on lvm
(except /boot). I had snapshots which I could revert to if I ever felt
like backing out of the upgrade, but I never reached that point (I have
with other upgrades of other systems).

Next upgrade, I think that I will do a clean, minimal install on a fresh
device, then migrate the logical volumes. I will need to do some prep
work to separate the database from the the rest of the system
(recordings, etc. already are on separate lvs).

Btw, my 14.04/0.27+fixes system had been working great til I started
getting missed recordings and recordings that weren't showing up in the
database sometime in October. The upgrade has fixed those issues.
Otherwise, I would have waited to upgrade.

Leo
