There shouldn't be any need to compile it yourself the packaged version
should work fine. I'm using 1.30.0 which works OK.
That version message is misleading I think what is happening is
mythzmserver can't find the version string in /etc/zm.conf actually I
think Ubuntu puts it in /etc/zm/zm.conf.
Anyway if you edit which ever zm.conf you use and add the line
ZM_VERSION=1.30.4
hopefully everything will work fine.
