Actually, just running it from a command line will give you a running log, which you can then copy 
and paste somewhere else.

This is a useful trick if you need to debug mythtv and have trouble finding or reading the logs. You 
can run mythtv-setup, mythbackend and/or mythfrontend from a terminal and the logs will be right 
there. If something odd happens, you can alt-tab to the terminal (which the myth screens would 
otherwise cover) to see what's going on. This even works if you ssh in from another box.
