Maybe not answering the question 100%, but I'm using an HVR-2250 card with
kernel 3.16 (Debian). There was no special kernel twiddling needed, but I did
need to download the firmware, per the page you referenced. I believe the HVR
2250 and 2200 are pretty similar (both SAA7164 chips), difference being US/ATSC
vs DVB-T
Note that I'm using it for ATSC (OTA USA HD). I think I played briefly with
its analog input, but I'm not 100% sure (it might have been with the ATI HDTV
wonder I did that with).
