To be more precise, they are even more arrogant then MS. Standards are
bad for sales. They do not want you to only buy a new TV, but all
connected parts at ones. Their standards have a live cycle of maybe a
year. And backward compatibility, even worse for sales and standing in
the way of making their products even more flashy.
