In mythtv-setup under capture cards (and under video sources) there is an 
option to "delete all capture cards (/video sources)" and "delete all 
capture cards (/video sources) on all hosts". The latter to a greater 
degree will bring the database for those sections back to a pristine / 
clean state whereas the former can (in some circumstances) leave some cruft 
behind. There is a probability that doing the "delete all video sources on 
all hosts" option may have automatically resolved this invalid starting 
channel issue automatically, but the single host option is there for those 
with multiple backends etc.
