Yes, apparently the HDHRs do not have any way of being used to collect
EPG data.  It is a pretty big oversight, I think.  Of course, if you
can get an external EPG source, such as SchedulesDirect, it is not a
problem.  But I do think that any tuner should have a way of providing
the full capabilities of the tuner hardware to the user.  The new
SAT>IP network protocol does that I think, so I hope MythTV will
eventually be implementing SAT>IP.  But when the HDHRs were designed,
SAT>IP did not exist, so they created their own protocol to talk to
the tuners, and they missed some things.
