It's not the fault of the guide data providers.
Every single bit of guide data that exists, whether it
be online, or the more traditional paper formats (newspapers,
magazines etc) normally all agree on when a show will be shown.

It's the broadcasters themselves who seem to only use the schedule
as an idea of what is on.

I've seen other practices they do, such as around prime time programming
they stuff the advertising breaks with more ads than they should,
resulting in a primetime programs taking 65 minutes, when it should take
60 minutes when the "right" number of ads are shown.

Then the late night and small hours programs run with shorter ad breaks
than normal, so by 6am they are approximately on time again.

It's blatant commercialism combined with not giving a stuff
about the viewer (provided they are watching the prime time ad breaks)
