[mythtv-users] HD Home Run Prime HDHR3-CC keeps re-booting, can't access cable card - solved

Recorded a cable channel show fine at 12:30 AM EDST on 6/Nov.

The show recording scheduled for 8 AM hung.  No other cable 
shows would record; my OTA Hauppage cards recorded fine.

Looking at the IP address of the HDHR3-CC, it would boot, start 
to authenticate the card, then re-boot.  This appears to have 
shown up from a DNS upgrade.  If affects:
HDHomeRun PRIME running 20130117 or older firmware
HDHomeRun DUAL running 20141124 or older firmware

Download the latest firmware (20150826) from the silicondust.com 
web site.  Save it to your home.

The trick is to disconnect the Internet from your network.
The HDHR3-CC can now boot without the DNS issue.

Then you can discover:

hdhomerun_config discover
< example:  hdhomerun device 131A48E8 found at 192.168.1.104 >

and upgrade the firmware:

hdhomerun_config ID upgrade FILE
