This time the show that was hit was bewitched, and my 8 year old son
stumbled upon it. I think I have isolated the problem.

It seems that for many of my recording rules, I have the ttvdb number
stored in the rule. Since the rule was set up prior to the I'd number
receiving a prefix for the grabber to use, only the number is stored. It
looks like, 'automatically lookup metadata' is either trying the move
database grabber first with the pre-populated number, or the ttvdb one is
failing. Either way there does not seem to be a check as the whether the
title or description match, which there should be *if the reference number
does not contain the prefix.

Now as for my recording rules: I think the quickest fix will be to delete
all the metadata numbers that are stored in my recording rules which do not
have the prefix. Say a properly crafted sql query.

Any help appreciated.
