As mentioned on that other discussion, while
deleting the channel may also work for some,
a future scan (or whatever method one uses to
perform updates) may end up adding such
channels back to the database at some future
point (which if you scan daily you will likely
remember to delete all over again, but if you
scan yearly only your excellent documentation
will likely remind you to perform that step).
