[mythtv-users] Freezing/Pixelating

While watching TV, the video on the remote frontend sometimes freezes or
pixelates. This last time, I had to exit back to the main menu and go back
in to the channel to continue watching because it just froze for way too
long. Later, I looked at the logs on the backend and noticed this in the
log about the same time it froze ...

2016-03-20 21:23:51.714882 E [1237/15792] ProcessRequest
ringbuffer.cpp:1476 (ReadPriv) -
RingBuf(/export/record/1711_20160321035209.mpg): ReadPriv(..524288, normal)
-- timed out waiting for data (10011 ms)

I have an HD Homerun Prime w/ Cablecard as my tuner and the Cable company
is Charter.

Does that error indicate the backend stopped receiving data from the HD
Homerun Prime or the backend was unable to read from the file and stream it
to the remote frontend, for 10011ms ?

Other times I've had the video pixelate and lose about 2 or so seconds of
video, and it'll go right back to playback with the following message in my
logs as well:

2016-03-19 00:03:43.343580 W [2257/31376] ProcessRequest
ringbuffer.cpp:1453 (ReadPriv) -
RingBuf(/export/record/1704_20160319070218.mpg): ReadPriv(..524288, normal)
-- waited 5726 ms for avail(65424) > count(524288)

The video is on a RAID 5 array that is healthy and the SMART status of all
4 drives is good. So I don't believe I have a failing drive.

I'm thinking an issue with the stream from the HDHomeRun Prime, but not
really sure what those errors mean.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks ...
