You could build the Debian packages yourself from source, guide available
at

https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Installing_MythTV_on_Debian

I got cold feet, trying to install (e.g. needed to remove packages and
re-install and ran out of time in my upgrade window)

If you try it, please let me know the result.
