[mythtv-users] mythfilldatabase not working

About a month or so ago I finally upgraded my older mythtv (either 0.25 
or 0.26, I don't remember) to the latest 0.27.6-25 fixes from github.

After a few weeks I realized my guide data was no longer being updated. 
Where in the code / what invokes mythfilldatabase? I ran it by hand and 
it populated without a problem.
I see no reference to mythfilldatabase in the mythbackend or 
mythlogserver log files so I am not sure if it is even being run nightly.

The only suggestion I saw was something about whether mythtv-setup 
included a path or not to the executable. Mine does not. I didn't really 
want to run this in a cron job due to the smart backup/scheduling used 
internally.

Any ideas why this stopped working, how to fix, where in the code it 
gets invoked?
