It works for me like this most of the time. I only see the problem you
describe when the screen just returned from power off. Then the power
management kicks in once. After pressing ESC twice to display the menu
and continue playing the recording, everything is fine. I can watch as
many shows as I want without the display going off again. I thought it
is only a glitch on my system and haven't found the time to troubleshoot
it. I'm running XUbuntu 14.04.
