Here here!

I've spent some many hours playing with Mythfrontend and the RPi today.

I have the "TV" mythbox which is BE+FE, and now the rPi frontend on another
TV connected to the backend over wired gigabit ethernet.
I recently upgraded the BE box, it's a reasonably powerful machine.

Playback of live TV and Recorded TV (which is MPEG2) worked fine, except
that it was really blocky - like a heavily compressed youtube video.

Some of the h.264 MKV packed videos I tried were a bit hit & miss. One
played perfectly, with both sound and subtitles. Another was so jerky, I
was getting less than a frame a second.

However the #1 problem was browsing the "videos" section.
There's about 12 directories in my upper-level video tree, but it took the
RPi about 40 seconds to bring up the nav-panel.
If I went into a subdirectory of this (which has ~317 folders) it took
around 2 minutes to come back.

What exactly is going on during this browse?

I will test some more over the next few days.

But overall it's looking really promising.

cheers,
-kt
