If they are on different machines and thus on different IPs it should
stay separated, The previous suggestion ensures you can not get
accidental wrong connection and your 0.28 backend trying to upgrade
the 0.27 database.
If you want to build in even more security you could create two
sub-nets with each backend on its own.
