I have been very content using a Raspberry Pi 2 with Mythfrontend 0.27.
The RPi2 is a less powerful predecessor to the RPi3 so the RPi3 should
perform even better.
MythTV 0.27 is not officially supported on the Raspberry Pi. With that
being said, I wrote an article about how I set up an RPi2 with
Mythfrontend 0.27. See:
Setting Up an Inexpensive Raspberry Pi 2 as a Cheap Frontend to MythTV
with MythFrontend

The MythTV Wiki also lists other links for RPi. See:

Curtis
