Autoexpiration will only ever occur when the file system to which MythTV 
is recording is full (within "Extra disk space (GB)").  If you want to 
remove recordings from a not-full file system, you must delete them. It 
seems Gerald doesn't want to let his file system fill up, so he needs to 
delete recordings.
