Tech its just a large Computer Flat Screen connected via HDMI to a android device called SkyStreamX running Kodi connected to MythTV.

You will need an IR blaster for changing channels on the Satellite box.
You must configure MythTV to change the channels using that. The HD PVR
has an IR blaster included.

You need the original HD PVR model 1212 or 1219. HD PVR 2, rocket,
colossus, etc. are not supported. This will give you HD. Make sure that
your satellite box has component output (3 cables). If you only want SD
then can get another type of tuner and attach it either to component out
(1 cable) or RF out (TV antenna cable) of the satellite box if the
satellite box has those connections.

Anything that MythTV can record can also be watched via MythTV LiveTV.
So if you get all the parts together it will be possible to watch
LiveTV. Just bear in mind that MythTV takes over the satellite box and
tunes it, so you cannot watch a program directly on the satellite box
while MythTV is using it for a recording or Live TV.
