I think there has been some work on a driver but no official support for the current HD-PVRs. I have a DirecTV receiver hooked to an HD-PVR. One thing to mention is that you don't need an IR blaster to control it. Since my DirecTV receiver is on the network I can control it via a script that connects to it over http. You might want to try that first:
