The problem there is that the phrase "MCE Remote" actually means very little at all, as my own
investigations have discovered.
Alleged "MCE" remotes and receivers can send and receive almost any kind of IR code and there is
almost no commonality amongst them.
If you don't believe me, look at the translation tables in /lib/udev/rc_keymaps[1] for tables with
"mce" in their names. The LIRC tables have yet more variations...
[1] in debian distros, yours may be somewhere different.
