Directories in the storage groups are linked to the hostname. Just
like other resources. So if, when the new backend is ready, you give
it the hostname of the old backend, the storage directories will be
searched there. Of cause you can also delete them on the old backend
and recreate them on the new one. The ip-number is mainly relevant for
locating the database. For the rest you can change it if you keep the
hostname the same. Switching to the new master is mainly changing the
setting in mythtv-setup on both backends to point to the right master.
The database doesn't need to be on the same machine, as long as it's
running when the master is on.
