[mythtv-users] How to Prevent Freeze When Starting Playback

Hi Mark,
The paint engine was set to "QT" -- not sure why, maybe that's the default
in Mythbuntu. Anyway, I changed it to "Auto" and found that while it did
not fix the original problem, it does now display a "Please Wait" message
during the delay. The menus are now also much smoother and some graphics
glitches I'd seen traversing through the menus seem to be gone.
The only disadvantage is that there's now a small "Default Settings"
message displayed in the upper-right corner for a few seconds when playback
begins. I can dismiss it by hitting "Exit" on the remote, though if anyone
knows a way to suppress it from being shown in the first place, I'd be
grateful.
Thanks,
Tom
