[mythtv-users] unable to find any channels....

I'd tried powering off/on - in fact before I did that it didn't recognise
the card in Mythtv - after restart it did.
I know the signal for both DVB-T and DVB-S are ok, as both work respectively
with TV, and separate/old Skybox.
DVB-T signal strength when scanning on mythtv occasionally flickers upto 30%
max, but never finds any channels.
DVB-S scan shows signal strength 85%, but timesout after first scan with no
channels found - doesn't go through all list of transponders etc.

I've installed dvb-apps, but not tried anything - does anyone have a Noddy's
guide!?

Maybe coincidentally, my DVD drive (old IDE drive) has also disappeared. It
is there in BIOS, but in Ubuntu can't see it. Put a disk in but nothing!
All this has happened in the last few days.
