While I agree that more control would be ideal, the workaround we use is multiple recording groups, each with its own PIN. There's one that holds the kids' stuff, which has no PIN; another for stuff that the kids can watch, but we don't want them to without us around; and another for stuff they should never watch.

Interesting.  I may need to investigate on that some.  The only pit fall I see is I am ok with the older boys watching more mature content even when we are not around, as long as it's on their tablet (with headphones if possible) where the younger girls are not able to see.  If they know the pin, they will watch on living room tv since we are not around.  The boys have been known to kick the girls outside mid day so they can watch things we don't want the girls watching... lol

On to what this original thread was about, I want to Thank David for the suggestion of setting priority to 0 to tuner 1.  That worked.  Makes allowing the kids to create recordings easier as they don't need to remember to assign a tuner, just let it default to ANY knowing only 2 or 3 will be used.

One new question on the original topic.  Right now I have allowed all 3 tuners able to be used for Live TV an Tuners 2 an 3 can be used for Recording. Is it possible to give higher priority to recordings over live tv on tuner 2 an 3?  So if a person is watching live TV when a show is scheduled to record, that person gets bumped from live tv in favor of recording?  This was a request of the kids who have all agreed that recordings should take priority.
