I am aware of that problem with the WD Green drives - I got caught by
it with my first 2 Tbyte WD black drive, which now has a Load Cycle
Count of 326940. Fortunately, WD Black drives seem to be much more
tolerant of high counts, and it has shown no signs of problems. I
would not want a WD Green to have a counter that high, and I always
use idle3ctl to change their timeout.
But it does not seem to be a problem with the ST8000AS0002 - its
timeout is quite a bit longer and nothing is accessing the drive
except when I play one of the files on it. Its Load Cycle Count is
currently 28.
