To answer my own question, mythchanger.
I can change channels on box manually from command line, but put the
same line into backend setup and it doesn't change channels. Actually, I
had the box on Ch190 and when mythtv changed it it went to Channel 2.
So I guess it is talking to the box.
I will do some more poking around.
