$modprobe -r mceusb
$modprobe -v mceusb
insmod
/lib/modules/2.6.32-504.16.2.el6.x86_64/kernel/drivers/media/rc/mceusb.ko
$dmesg

$service lirc restart

Starting infrared remote control daemon (lircd): [ OK ]
$ir-keytable
Found /sys/class/rc/rc1/ (/dev/input/event14) with:
         Driver mceusb, table rc-rc6-mce
Supported protocols: NEC RC-5 RC-6 JVC SONY LIRC
         Enabled protocols: LIRC
Name: Media Center Ed. eHome Infrared
         bus: 3, vendor/product: 0471:0815, version: 0x0000
Repeat delay = 500 ms, repeat period = 33 ms

$ls /dev/lirc* -la
crw-rw---- 1 root root 247, 0 Jun 3 16:29 /dev/lirc0

and in /var/log/messages:

Jun 3 16:29:29 marble lircd-0.9.0[1501]: error reading from /dev/lirc0
(ret -1, expected 4)
Jun 3 16:29:29 marble lircd-0.9.0[1501]: No such device

So it is using /dev/lirc0. Should I force it to use /dev/input?
