I believe the correct term is "embarrassing longer than initially proposed".
While I understand some of the challenges with changing the entire build
infrastructure, there is apparently also some Layer 8/9 issues in regards
to moving forward.  As with most things, change will happen.  Eventually.
Even continents drift.
