Since the database engine is doing the actual I/O the only thing
you are ionice'ing is the request to start the next activity in your
script (unless you are ionice'ing the database engine, but that
impacts all usage).  So while io/nice may be a good practice
for many "background" activities, in this case it is not
accomplishing what you likely desire.
