Thank you Daryl. I deleted all the capture cards and recreated them with 5 simultaneous recordings. I reset the inputs etc. and then ran the frontend. I got the expected System Status information that tuners 9 and 10 had errors. Then I did a reboot. Problem solved apparently - 10 working tuners. Time will tell. It seems that even Linux sometimes needs a restart to finish configuration changes.
