Now, with all kernels, these messages appear briefly early in the boot
process and no adapters are registered.
Unable to find symbol tda10046_attach()
Unable to find symbol it913x_fe_attach()
Things got worse, perhaps as a result of my investigations and, I
suspect, of a 'quick boot' persistence exploit in SL7. It seems that I
can now get a working system, after updating /etc/modprobe.d, by
unloading/reloading modules and unplugging/replugging the usb device.
And I just had a (rare) series of brief power outages....
[john at HP_Box ~]$ uname -r
3.10.0-123.13.2.el7.x86_64
[john at HP_Box ~]$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/dvb.conf
alias symbol:tda10046_attach() tda1004x
alias symbol:it913x_fe_attach() it913x_fe
options saa7134_dvb adapter_nr=0
options dvb_usb_af9035 adapter_nr=1,2
==========
and then, after booting and as root,
modprobe -r saa7134_dvb
modprobe -r dvb-usb-af9035
modprobe saa7134_dvb
modprobe dvb-usb-af9035
All very messy, but it seems to work.
Posts on media-linux and sl-users got no responses.
For the record....
John
