If it is DVI-I then it supports both digital and analog signalling; i.e. a
single port with both DVI-A and DVI-D capability. HDMI and DVI-D are
electrically the same except usually DVI-D doesnt support audio... however
you can use an HDMI out on a graphics card to a DVI-I or DVI-D input on a
monitor (or vice versa).

therefore you should be able to just buy an HDMI to DVI-D cable (or adapter
plug) and plug in from any modern graphics card; if you have access to a
friends laptop, or a tablet with an output or even a google chrome you
should be able to check it works without spending huge sums of money.
