i use ubuntu, and have 'irw' tool to show keypresses.
every keypress on my Logitech harmony results in 3 signals being recieved on the FE (according to irw)

in the mythtv lirc config, each line has a 'delay' value. does this figure match how many signals your remote is sending? ie: lirc config says delay = 2, but your remote only send 1 signal? this would result in missed keypresses.

(and the opposite, if lirc config was set to delay = 1, and your remote sent 3 signals per press, mythtv would act 3 times per keypress)
