You may need to try a few things out, I was fortunate that once I
realised I was getting some keys producing output but nothing from
others it was just a matter of identifying the correct file (although
nowhere is this stated clearly as far as I could find).....

In total it took me about three days to do the migrate from lirc to
kernel, which sounds a lot but looking back I think I spent a couple
of weeks getting lirc to work many years back.

ir-keytable --help should give you some options/ideas    -r seems to
ring a bell for some reason as well as without any options, but I'm
not at that machine so can't check what I did.
