The work-around isn't ideal though, as it will be overwritten by updates.

Much easier to delay the commflagger start-up by changing your 
"Advert-detection command" (mythtv-setup->General->Page 9) to something 
like:

"sleep 3 && /usr/bin/mythcommflag"
