With the possible exception of (the mythical) Ted Williams
eyesight, at the 10' distance, the big advantage of higher
resolution is called manufacturer profit (at least if you believe
the scientific studies regarding the ability for individual to
see/perceive the difference)  Yes, some people sit/stand at 1'
from the TV (especially in the showroom), and for a monitor(*)
(or a phone) at that distance, 4K can have real difference, but
for a TV, maybe not.  It depends on the individual.



(*) There are more than a few reports regarding the
productivity enhancements of 4K monitors on the
desktop.  But, as with all else, this too varies.
