It's against my better judgement to reply to this thread I really don't
want to fan the flames but there is so much miss-information I feel I
need to put a few thing straight.

The old MythMusic couldn't stay as it was because it used the old UI so
it needed to be completely re-written to use the new MythUI. Despite
what some people are saying the vast majority didn't like the old
MythMusic including most of the devs that used it.

One of the problems was the tracks were presented in a fixed layout. The
new interface as Roger pointed out doesn't have that limitation you can
search/filter the tracks in the tree however you want.

To say I didn't ask for opinions on how the new UI should work is incorrect
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/416301
I know there where several other threads discussing it as well. It
became clear from the start that design by committee was never going to
work (if you can create a coherent interface out of those comments them
you are better than me).

To say I haven't responded to _constructive_ criticism is incorrect and
under the circumstances I think I have responded with a fair amount of
restraint. I don't believe many of the comments in this thread for
example are in any way constructive. How is calling something a POS
helpful?

There was those that insisted you should be able to find music by
directory so that was added despite having no use for it myself and it's
probably only useful for 0.01% of users.

There was those that wanted to immediately start playback when selecting
tracks in the tree like the old interface so that was added (just press
PLAY) on any node in the tree and all the tracks below it will be added
to the active playlist and start playing).

There was those that wanted keybindings to jump to specific views
similar to the old interface so that was added.

There was those that thought the resume mode should work differently so
that was improved.

There was those that said you should be able to return from say the
fullscreen visualizer back to the previous view which is now how it
works (so you can now mimic the old interface by starting in the
playback view then switching to the playlist editor and when you exit
you are back to the playback view for example).

I added storage group support even though I have no use for it (so you
can now rip or import you music on a frontend and it will be moved to
the backend were all frontends can get access to it without having to
use NFS for example).

I should say some of these features are new to master so are not in 0.27.

I could go on but this reply is already too long and what is point some
of you clearly have a bee in your bonnet and I feel nothing is going to
change you mind.

I do find some of the comments in this thread to be rather nasty and
full of hate which is just unacceptable. All you are doing is just
leaching the life blood out of the project at a time when it is
struggling to keep going.

And finally the old classic. If you don't like it I will refund the
money you paid for it :). But seriously why complain it's open source
software you have all the tools to fix it as you want. (standby for the
this is why open source software will never be any good comments). For
the record I'm not a programmer I'm a user who got fed up with devs not
making their program work how _I_ wanted so learned to program just so I
could have it work how I want. Now _I_ get to piss of the users I'd say
that is a Win Win situation :)
