I agree.  I have ex-corporate laptops, which don't meet all Stephen's 
criteria but can support moderate mythtv use as well as general laptop 
facilities.  I would need extra storage and a better display for a real 
media center - and familiarity with setting up your tuners in a wide 
range of locations!
