I have compiled LIRC with IguanaIR support on Ubuntu 14.04 x86_64, so it is
possible. I don't have the steps handy, but I'll try and remember to look
at it tonight, if nobody chimes in before that. If I remember correctly, I
had to remove a number of lirc* packages before it would work. I have it
scripted, as every stock LIRC package would break it. I'm sure there is a
better way (blacklist the package from updating maybe?) but this process
works for me.
