Hi all,

i'm trying to setup a MeegoPad T01 ( Intel Bay-Trail-T Z3735F) with Gentoo
as fronted for myth. So far most of the system is running. But when i'm
watching HD content (H.264 at 1920x1080) for a few minutes the CPU gets very
hot (80-90 degree Celsius). With this temperature the MeegoPad can't be
used as a frontend.

vainfo shows me:

libva info: VA-API version 0.35.1
libva info: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib64/va/drivers/i965_drv_video.so
libva info: Found init function __vaDriverInit_0_35
libva info: va_openDriver() returns 0
vainfo: VA-API version: 0.35 (libva 1.3.1)
vainfo: Driver version: Intel i965 driver - 1.3.0
vainfo: Supported profile and entrypoints
      VAProfileMPEG2Simple            : VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileMPEG2Simple            : VAEntrypointEncSlice
      VAProfileMPEG2Main              : VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileMPEG2Main              : VAEntrypointEncSlice
      VAProfileH264ConstrainedBaseline: VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileH264ConstrainedBaseline: VAEntrypointEncSlice
      VAProfileH264Main               : VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileH264Main               : VAEntrypointEncSlice
      VAProfileH264High               : VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileH264High               : VAEntrypointEncSlice
      VAProfileVC1Simple              : VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileVC1Main                : VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileVC1Advanced            : VAEntrypointVLD
      VAProfileNone                   : VAEntrypointVideoProc
      VAProfileJPEGBaseline           : VAEntrypointVLD

Myth reports in it's log when starting playback:

VAAPI: Version: 0.35
VAAPI: Driver : Intel i965 driver - 1.3.0
VAAPI: Created VAAPI X11 display
VAAPI: Profile: MPEG2Simple Entrypoints: VLD EncSlice (UNSUPPORTED)

VAAPI: Profile: H264High Entrypoints: VLD EncSlice (UNSUPPORTED)
VAAPI: Profile: VC1Simple Entrypoints: VLD
VAAPI: Profile: VC1Main Entrypoints: VLD
VAAPI: Profile: VC1Advanced Entrypoints: VLD
VAAPI: Profile: Unknown Entrypoints: Unknown
VAAPI: Profile: Unknown Entrypoints: VLD
VAAPI: Desired profile for 'H.264 VAAPI': H264High
VAAPI: Found profile H264High with entry VLD
VAAPI: Created context (1920x1080->1920x1080)
VAAPI: Deleting VAAPI display.
VAAPI: Deleted context
AFD: Using 1 CPUs for decoding
AFD: InitVideoCodec() 0x31371c0 id(H264) type (Video).

The renderer is set to opengl, so i think that VAAPI decoding is indeed
used by myth. Is someone using this hardware experiencing the same hot
CPU?

Regards

Martin
