Yes, I've done some editing of that file, though not in the way you've
specified below.

I've tried editing that file in the way suggested, then restarted Apache.
But I still get the same timeout. I'm probably doing something wrong that
is very basic--just can't determine at the moment what that might be. One
of the ways I edited this file previously was to enter the directory path
for my MythWeb installation (under /var/www/localhost/htdocs). Apart from
that, I'm pretty sure the file is "stock." It seems odd to me that the
path would be something like you've specified above, i.e., under a system
directory rather than under /var. But that's the only potential
misconfiguration I could point to thus far.
