Thanks for your input, George. How would I go about checking whether php
bindings are being built? Perhaps by looking at the build log for MythTV?
I've also wondered whether there might be some additional php package I'm
missing, but looking through the list, the only one that seems (in my
rather uninformed opinion) to be possibly relevant is myphpadmin.

I'll look into debugging. When you mention "the internal one" are you
referring to the planned built-in web frontend planned for 0.28?
