Can you site any sources on this or is this just your opinion?
Because my gut feel on that is that it's a lost war at that point in any
case. Any system that is going to try to skip commercials by detection
will at minimum allow users to skip them with a "jump forward" (i.e. an
amount of time) function and so no matter how well you can beat the
detection systems, you will never beat the human with a button.
So any effort put towards defeating detection is a total waste because
even if you could defeat them all with 100% effectiveness, the users
with those systems will have the buttons and are not going to watch them
any way.
